Stéphane Tétreault, cello, and Marie-Ève Scarfone, piano, make music beyond their years. Hailing from Montreal, they recently released their album Haydn, Schubert and Brahms garnering Gramophone Magazine’s ‘Critic’s Choice 2016’.
With an immense list of accolades, Stéphane has a reputation for “pure, lyrical, unadulterated playing of the highest order…, and is matched impeccably by his duo partner, Marie-Ève Scarfone” (Gramophone, 2016). Marie-Ève has performed throughout North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, and is known for her work with Opéra de Montréal and Opéra de Québec. Together, Stéphane and Marie-Ève “form an impressive duo, pianist-virtuoso and inspired cellist who display a perfect fit, ease of execution and total complicity on stage” (Jacques Hétu). They will be continuing their high-calibre performance streak with a program of Beethoven, Schumann, Dompierre and more.
