When is the Harbourfront Reopening?

The Harbourfront Theatre is fully reopening in September 2021 and will be unveiling the renovations that have kept us so busy the last year! We will be making event announcements over the next few weeks – follow us on Facebook and Instagram for updates. You can also sign-up for our E-News to get all the details delivered straight to your email.

When will more shows be announced or new event tickets available?

We are working with artists and booking agents to fill the fall calendar and will be making announcements once details are confirmed. Rescheduling events has many factors to consider and work through; however we are aiming to make announcement over the next few weeks.

Can we visit the Harbourfront Theatre?

The building is open and continues to see visitors at the Visitor Information Centre; however, the physical Box Office is closed and there is construction taking place in the building. We ask all visitors to use caution around these areas.

While our Administration Offices are open and available to assist anyone unable to reach out by telephone or email, we encourage you to wait and join us in excitement during our reopening events this fall. We will be happy to share all the updates with you!

How do I get in touch with you if your physical Box Office is closed to phone calls and visits?

Our physical Box Office is currently closed due to renovations; however, you can contact us by email at boxoffice@harbourfronttheatre.com. You can also leave a phone message for the Box Office at 902-432-3046 and we will get back to you in a few days as not all of our staff are in the office full time.

Can I buy gift certificates online?

Yes, you can buy a gift certificate online (our system refers to these as “gift vouchers”). You can buy one for yourself or as a gift for someone else.

You simply enter the value you want for your gift voucher, the date you would like it sent, the recipient’s name and email address, and the sender’s name. The Gift Voucher email will include a special gift voucher code which is then redeemed online or at our Box Office. The value of the Gift Voucher never expires.

Please don’t hesitate to call us at 902-432-3046 if you need assistance.

How do I log into my online account to buy tickets?

If you’re on a desktop, laptop, or tablet, you can log in by clicking the “My Account” button at the top right of our website.

If you’re on a mobile phone, you can log in by clicking the menu icon at the top of our website, look for the “BUY ONLINE” section in the menu list and click on “My Account.”

Having trouble logging into your account? Try resetting your password through the “forgot password” portal. Or contact us at boxoffice@harbourfronttheatre.com so we can confirm the email associated with your account and help you reset your password.

How do I use theatre credit to buy tickets online?

If you have theatre credit, you can use it to purchase tickets or gift certificates online. During the check-out process (beneath the box that lets you apply a gift certificate code to your purchase), you’ll have the opportunity to see how much theatre credit is on your account and to check a box to apply the credit to your purchase. It’s that easy!

You can also view your theatre credit balance on your account page when you log-in to your account on our website.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us at 902-432-3046 if you need assistance.

What happens when an event I have tickets to is cancelled?

Harbourfront Theatre will contact you by email (or by phone if no email is associated with your account) to let you know that the event has been cancelled and what your refund options are.

You have three options for refunding your tickets: You can refund to theatre credit, the original method of payment, or donate a portion or the full value of your tickets in exchange for a charitable tax receipt (please note: tax receipts can be issued for donations of $20 and over).

If you can’t find a cancellation email in your inbox or haven’t received one from us for an event you should have received one for, please reach out to us at boxoffice@harbourfronttheatre.com to arrange your refund.

Why was the event cancelled?

We’ll let you know the specific reason why the event you purchased tickets for was cancelled when we contact you. Cancellation of an event is never our first choice. We always try to reschedule an event if we can, but due to the complexity of touring routes and schedules (and how far in advance most artists book performances), it is hard to reschedule every event. We only cancel if there is no other option.

What happens when an event I have tickets to is postponed?

Harbourfront Theatre will contact you by email to let you know that the event has been postponed and what the new date is. Your original ticket(s) will be honoured and valid for the event’s new date.

*Please Note: If you didn’t get the email notification(s) about changes to an event you have tickets for, please contact us at boxoffice@harbourfronttheatre.com so we can make sure we have your correct contact info on file and ensure you don’t miss any future notifications about your tickets.

Will you remind me of my tickets closer to the new date?

Yes, we will! We will send you a reminder email a month before the performance date reminding you about your tickets, the show date & time, and any other details you may need to know for attending the show, and then we will also send you the standard pre-show reminder a day before the performance date. Please reach out to us if you have any other questions!

What are my options for returning my tickets?

If you are unable to attend the new date or if your event has been cancelled, you can arrange one of three options to return your ticket(s):

Receive a theatre credit for the value of your ticket(s) that can be used for future Harbourfront events. This keeps your investment at the theatre, and in doing so greatly helps us as a charitable, non-profit arts organization. We really appreciate you considering this option.

Refund to original method of payment for the value of your ticket(s). Or you can also choose to donate a portion of the value of your tickets AND receive a refund for the remaining value.

Donate some or all of the value of your ticket(s). Charitable tax receipts are available upon request. For you to consider this option means a lot to us, and your ticket donation will help us immensely as a charitable, non-profit arts organization.

Taking theatre credit or donating any amount of your tickets instead of requesting a full refund is always a big help towards sustaining us and our future ability to operate. For charitable, non-profits organizations like us, every dollar makes a big difference! We can’t keep running without the help of generous individuals like you.

Will I get my refund right away?

Refunds to Theatre Credit: You will receive the credit to your account upon Box Office returning your tickets. Anyone can get theatre credit for the full value of their tickets no matter what payment method they used to purchase. (Learn how to use theatre credit for online purchases here.)

Refunds to Debit/Cash: We will provide refunds for debit purchases and cash purchases in cash or cheque due to our ticketing system requirements. While our building is now open, we ask that you contact us directly to confirm your refund method.

Refunds to Credit Card: Due to our new ticketing system, the date of purchase will affect the refund process. Please see more information below.

If you purchased ON or AFTER FEBRUARY 21, 2020, we can refund to your credit card right away as your tickets were purchased on our new & current ticketing system. Please Note: It may take a few days for the refund to be reflected on your banking statement.

If you purchased BEFORE FEBRUARY 21, 2020, we do not have your credit card information on file and will need to contact you to collect it as your tickets your purchased through our old ticketing system. We will reach out to you by phone to confirm if you would like to process this refund over the phone, or if you would prefer to come in-person to provide your credit card information.

Can I make a donation to help Harbourfront Theatre during this time?
