What’s Happening at Harbourfront Now:

Harbourfront Theatre’s Ongoing Response to COVID-19:

Harbourfront Theatre takes its responsibility to our community very seriously and continues to follow the recommendations of our provincial health authorities made in response to COVID-19.

Message from Harbourfront:

Harbourfront Theatre is operating virtually due to our ongoing COVID-19 response. In-person visits & phone calls remain unavailable at this time.

You can still purchase gift certificates & tickets for future events online here on our website. The status of future events will be updated on our website and will be communicated to ticket-holders by email.

You can currently contact us in two ways if you have questions or requests:

  1. by email (boxoffice@harbourfronttheatre.com)
  2. by dropping-off a letter to our mail box located at the theatre’s front doors (or by mailing us at 124 Heather Moyse Drive, Summerside, PE, C1N 5Y8). Please include your name, phone number, and reason for writing, and we’ll give you a call within a few business days of receiving your letter.

Returning Tickets:

Tickets can be returned to the refund preference of your choice: theatre credit, original method of payment, or donation for a tax receipt*.

  • Postponed Events – Process for Returning Tickets:
    • If you have tickets for a postponed event and cannot attend on the new date, you can email us at boxoffice@harbourfronttheatre.com to return your tickets. We’ll respond to confirm your refund preference of choice and then return your tickets as requested as soon as possible. (Please Note: This may take a few business days.)
  • Cancelled Events – Process for Getting Your Refund
    • If you have tickets to a cancelled event and have not heard from us, we have been trying to reach you by the phone number and email we have on your account. The contact info we have for you may be outdated or may contain an error that is stopping us from reaching you successfully.
      • Please contact us at boxoffice@harbourfronttheatre.com so that we can rectify this and refund your cancelled tickets to the preference of your choice as soon as possible.

Thank-you for your ongoing support! Let’s keep working together to care for ALL our neighbours by continuing to follow public health guidelines and recommendations.

Fall 2020 Season:

Our fall season is on hold until further notice. We are working on some necessary and overdue theatre maintenance projects that we would like to complete before re-opening fully to the public so that we may better accommodate their comfort and safety throughout the building.

In the meantime, we’re busy making big plans for our 25th anniversary coming up in 2021, and we can’t wait to share them with you. Stay tuned for more news later this year!

Did you know? We had A LOT of shows planned for summer and fall 2020 that we never even got to announce due to our covid-response closure. Luckily, the majority of these shows have been able to be postponed to future dates just like the shows that had already been announced.  Between the shows already announced and the shows yet to be shared, we have some great experiences in store once we can all be together again, and we can’t wait to experience them safely with you in the next few years!

What happens if we cancel or postpone an event that you have tickets for?

If we cancel an event:

(Note: More details available on the FAQ: Cancelled Events page)

  1. You will be contacted by email (the email associated with your ticket purchase) or by phone (if no email is associated with your account) to let you know of the cancellation and about your options for your refund.
  2. All ticket purchases will be refunded upon receiving notification of your refund preference (refund to original method of payment, to theatre credit, as a donation, or a mix of any of the three options).
  3. Box Office will confirm the status of your refund by email to let you know it’s been processed.
  • Please note: Due to the volume of emails we receive when an event is cancelled, it may take 5-10 business days to confirm and process every ticket-holder’s refund preference. Our apologies for any delays you may experience, but be assured you will get your refund as soon as we possibly can.

If we postpone an event:

(Note: More details available on the FAQ: Postponed Events page)

  1. You will be contacted by the email associated with your ticket purchase to let you know the event has been postponed and what the new date will be.
  2. You will be asked to hold onto your tickets as they will be honoured and valid for admission for the new date.
  3. If you cannot make the new date, contact us before the new performance date to return your tickets to the refund preference of your choice: theatre credit, original method of payment, or donation.

If I need to return tickets for a cancelled/postponed event, can I donate a portion of the value of my tickets AND receive the rest as a theatre credit or refund?

Yes! For sure, and it’s so easy for Box Office to do for you. You can donate the full value of your tickets, or you can donate any portion of the value and get the remaining amount returned to you as theatre credit or a refund. You picking one of these options is a great support for the future of our theatre.  Charitable tax receipts can be issued if the value of your donation is $20 or greater.

Thank-you for your generous support!

Can I make a donation to help Harbourfront Theatre during this time?

You are amazing! YES, thank-you so much for the question. Your donations will help us come back as strong as possible once its safe to get back to presenting experiences that will entertain and engage our audiences which in turn contribute to a stronger and more fulfilled Prince County community. Arts make a difference, and so do you! You can make a donation of any amount at www.harbourfronttheatre.com/donate/.

Can I buy gift certificates online?

YES, you can buy a gift certificate online (our system refers to these as “gift vouchers”). You can buy one for yourself or as a gift for someone else.

How does it work? You select the amount you want for your gift certificate, and it will ask you for an email to send the special gift voucher code to. The gift voucher code can then be redeemed at harbourfronttheatre.com or at our Box Office. Its value never expires.

How do I use theatre credit to buy tickets online?

If you have theatre credit, you can use it to purchase tickets or gift certificates online. During the check-out process (beneath the box that lets you apply a gift certificate code to your purchase), you’ll have the opportunity to see how much theatre credit is on your account and to check a box to apply the credit to your purchase. It’s that easy!

You can also view your theatre credit balance on your account page when you log-in to your account on our website.

How do I log into my online account to buy tickets online and view my theatre credit balance?

If you’re on a desktop, laptop, or tablet, you can log in by clicking the “My Account” button at the top right of our website.

If you’re on a mobile phone, you can log in by clicking the menu icon at the top of of our website, look for the “BUY ONLINE” section in the menu list and click on “My Account.”
